The Forever Young Project allows me to continue doing the fun, interesting, random, active activities and contests that I enjoy. However, for each activity I do (ie climbing mountains, surfing in outlandish outfits and ways, facial- hair growing, dance-offs and dance-a-thons, skydiving, paddleboarding down the California coast, eating every meal for an entire month at the campus dining hall, bungee jumping, pong tournaments, surfing big waves, entering Twister contests, DJ’ing, wearing strange costumes in public etc.), I will be participating in the name of an organization to raise money for non- profit organizations. Each new activity I do will be for a different organization. For example, one month I may go skydiving for the organizations Los Patojos and Rising Minds, or try to do a 24- hour long dance-a-thon for Habitat for Hope, then the next month surf bare for Surfrider or Livestrong, or grow a Fu Manchu ‘stache for 30 days for the Camp Ronald McDonald.
Some background on this project: I began envisioning the Forever Young Project over the past seven or eight months as I have been doing a lot of self- discovery; growing; trying to live, enjoy, and love life, doing things that I love and have fun doing. Throughout this process, I’ve discovered that there are many different things that I like doing whether they be long- term, short- term, or whatever. Ultimately, this led me to creating a way to continue partaking in the activities in which I am interested and excited about, be silly and creative, have fun, be adventurous, often shameless, while at the same time helping make the world a better place.
The mission of the Forever Young Project is simple: An outlet that allows individuals to celebrate both short and long- term interests and passions, while helping change and better the world through organizations that they care about.
I hope you will join me in this new project, endeavor, adventure, journey, movement or whatever you want to call it, that I’m about to embark upon, in any capacity in which you are interested. Together we're going to have fun, exercise our creativity, and help the community and the world. Get pumped!
Follow me on this blog, Facebook, a future website, and through emails. Within the next few days I will be posting on the blog Forever Young's first activities for the month of August and the organizations that will benefit from them.
Rock n' Roll,
Justin Blake Young
